About the Breeds:
F1 Breeds
When you breed a dog of one breed to another dog of a different breed, you get a "First Generation Cross." Breeders call these "F1". F1 Labradoodles don't have very consistent coats - only a rare F1 Labradoodle will be non-shedding. Most will shed about half as much as a lab. F1 Goldendoodles, on the other hand, are typically low to no shedding.
F1B Breeds
Now, if you take an F1 dog, and breed it BACK to a poodle, the resulting puppies are termed "F1B". The "B" comes from the word BACK. The point of doing this breeding is to improve coat type. Nearly all F1B Labradoodles and Goldendoodles are non-shedding, and great for people with allergies. The trade off, though, is that they typically become more refined and poodle like. So, further breedings are chosen carefully to increase the build of the dogs.
F2 Breeds
If you take an F1 dog, and breed it to another F1 dog, you get "F2s".
In my humble opinion, F2's are not desirable dogs. Why? Because 1/4 of the F2 dogs will be very lab like, with coats that shed immensely. 1/2 of the F2s will have coats like the F1s, shedding quite a bit. And, about 1/4 will have non-shedding coats.
F2+ Breeds
At this time, we frequently work with puppies the result of breeding an F1 to an F1B. The resulting puppies have improved bone type, and coat type. We call these "F2+". Nearly all F2+ doodles are completely non-shedding. However, if you desire a completely non-shedding larger dog (especially for allergy reasons), it is best to consider the Standard Schnoodles, as all Standard Schnoodles are non-shedding.
Shipping & Handling:
A $25 handling fee is charged per puppy, to all puppy sales to cover the expense of credit card handling, and accounting for all transactions.
"Shipping Expenses" vary with the size of the dog, the destination, and the airline used. By size, shipping estimates are below:
- Very small dog, under about 4 pounds: Airfare of $165 to $245, kennel ($25), health certificate ($35), handling ($25), travel to airport ($15) totals between $265 and $345ish, varies with destination (and airline). Rabies is an extra $10, if pup is over 12 weeks of age. You keep kennel.
- Small dog, between about 4 and 8 pounds: Airfare of $165 to $245, kennel ($25), health certificate ($35), handling ($25), travel to airport ($15) totals between $265 and $345ish, varies with destination (and airline). Rabies is an extra $10, if pup is over 12 weeks of age. You keep kennel.
- Medium dog, between about 8 and 15 pounds: Airfare of $195 to $245, kennel ($25), health certificate ($35), handling ($25), travel to airport ($15) totals between $295 and $345ish, varies with destination (and airline). Rabies is an extra $10, if pup is over 12 weeks of age. You keep kennel.
- Larger dog, between 15 and 40 pounds: Airfare of $225 to $300, kennel ($90), health certificate ($35), handling ($25), travel to airport ($15) totals between $325 and $400ish, varies with destination. Rabies is an extra $10, if pup is over 12 weeks of age. A large part of the shipping expense here is the kennel, which is generally large enough for the adult dog. You keep kennel.
Guarantee
Our puppies are guaranteed, health and temperament too, including a 2 year congenital health guarantee. Your puppy is guaranteed to be free of disabling congenital defects until the age of 2 years. Your puppy is also guaranteed to have a sound temperament. In the event the puppy develops a behavior problem, the buyer must work with us immediately, so that we can advise the correct training to modify the behavior.
We do not guarantee our size estimates. Because these are mixed breed dogs, "hybrid vigor" tends to increase the size above the average of both parents. We take this into account when we estimate the adult weight of the puppies. We also consider past litters of that set of parents to help us determine the adult size. Puppies do have different growth rates. Some puppies grow very fast, reaching adult size by 3-4 months of age (this occurs in the smaller dogs sometimes.) Some puppies, especially the larger dogs, grow very slowly, and don't reach full size until over 18 months of age. Some breeders use a chart to determine adult weight, figuring that the puppy reaches 25% of size by 8 weeks, 50% of size by 4 months, and 90% of size by 7 months. This DOES NOT WORK with most puppies. These charts can be more helpful when breeding purebred dogs (when family history is considered as well), but not mixes.
Your puppy is guaranteed for a period of three days (72 hours) to be free of illness. This health guarantee DOES NOT include stress induced illnesses such as stress induced hypoglycemia, coccidia, worms, and kennel cough. A letter from your vet is required in the event of a problem. This guarantee is limited to replacement only. Money refunds will not be made. Veterinary expenses are not covered (without prior consent.) All freight charges will be paid by the buyer. This guarantee is not transferable to a second party, should the original buyer sell the puppy.
