Olive, a sweet 7 pound Maltese, was bred to Chief, one of our Maltese boys, 6 pounds They have one Maltese puppy, a boy, born June 13, 2010. We expect Olive's puppy to mature between 6 and 8 pounds.

Maltese are non-shedding, allergy-friendly, a fantastic choice for people looking for a hypo-allergenic dog. This is a small dog, and size should be considered if you have very small children. These Maltese puppies are best suited for families with children older than 8 years of age.

Maltese are good natured, clownish dogs. They are very social, and insist on being part of the family. Maltese can have a reputation for being stubborn, but we find that when a Maltese is given boundaries, treated consistently, and expected to behave, they do great. Those Maltese that are spoiled, trained inconsistently, and treated as babies, will eagerly take advantage of the situation. They are remarkably bright. Even though tiny, they need training just as a large dog does!
