Yorkie Shih Tzu Dogs and Puppies
Yorkie Shih Tzu - This is a cross between a Yorkshire Terrier and a Shih Tzu.
This cross originally was an "accident" in our kennel. But, the resulting pups were so cute, sweet, and friendly, that they have become a frequent request! Like the shih tzu, this cross is happy and friendly, very social.
Personality
Like the yorkie, they are usually very playful. On a range of 1-10, 10 being the most active (like a Jack Russel Terrier!), they will generally fall in the range of 4-7. It's a cross well suited for more active families, where the dog can take part in outdoor activities with the family.
These FANTASTIC dogs are great therapy dogs because they are small, yet sturdy enough to handle. Plus, theyre a wonderful blend of mellow and fun loving. These mixed breed dogs are a popular pick for homes with retarded and/or disabled children.
Size and Colors
They generally mature between 5 and 13 pounds. When groomed regularly (about every 2-3 months), they are non-shedding and allergy-friendly. They often look remarkably like a small "Benji"! Puppy and adult pictures are below.
