Shinese Dogs and Puppies
Shih-Nese are Shih Tzu Pekingese mixes. They are also known as Shinese, Peke-a-Tzus, Peketzus, and Pekachus.
They are a mix that is perfectly suited for families with kids. They are durable, non-hyper, patient, and gorgeous! They enjoy playing with the kids, and they're also very happy to sit in a lap, or lay on the bed while their favorite child does his homework.
Personality
On a range of 1-10, 10 being the most active (like a Jack Russel Terrier!), Shinese will generally fall in the range of 3-5. Shih-Nese are quite social and kid friendly. They love people, especially their families.
Size and Colors
Peke-a-Tzus fall into two size categories here. Size varies with the size of the parents. We work with Shih-Nese to mature between 6 and 9 pounds, and between 9 and 15 pounds. The most common size is 9 to 12 pounds. Pekachus come in a wide variety of colors - solid colors like white, buff, black, gold, brindle, and sable (with or without white markings). Parti colors too, in the colors previously mentioned, with a white base. Even "Doberman" patterned puppies are possible.

Low to No Shedding
The Shinese can vary somewhat in their shedding/non-shedding qualities. Some are non-shedding, like the Shih Tzu, and some do shed to some degree, like the Pekingese. Look for a straighter haired puppy with no undercoat to minimize shedding. If you don't mind a bit of shedding, and are attracted to the look of the "double coat, of the Pekingese " then choose a very fluffy puppy. We can differentiate coat type by about 6 weeks of age.
