Schnorkie Dogs and Puppies
Schnauzer-Yorkie mixes, Snorkies or Schnorkies, are a delightful dog, fun-loving, smart, and clownish. This mix is great with kids, smaller than a mini schnauzer, but plenty sturdy enough for serious rough-housing with the children.
Most people have their snorkies clipped in a pet trim, often in a schnauzer style trim - clipped short on the body, sides, ears, and head, leaving the face, legs, belly, and chest, with furnishings. These furnishings are trimmed to be kept pretty, and easy to care for. Other styles styles include the "puppy cut" with 1 1/2" to 2" of coat left all over, and the "kennel cut" which is clippered short all over.Personality
On a range of 1-10, 10 being the most active (like a Jack Russel Terrier!), Schnorkie crosses will generally fall in the range of 4-7. They are VERY devoted to their families, and enjoy partaking in any activity with the family. They are social, great with kids. They're sturdy, and can handle, and enjoy, exercise. They are quite intelligent, and are generally housebroken within 4 to 6 weeks. Food rewards speed training.
Size and Colors
Schnorkies vary just a little in size, depending on the size of the parents. Our Snorkies average between 8 and 13 pounds.
Schorkies come in several different colors. Typical colors are sable (silver and gold), solid black or silver with or without white mis-marks, or sandy colored. Color varies with the color and color background of the Mini Schnauzer.
Non-Shedding and Allergy-Friendly
