Schnauzer-Shih Tzu Dogs and Puppies
Schnauzer-Shih Tzus, or Schnau-Tzus are unusual, wonderful dogs. This cross is wonderfully social, sturdy, and very well suited for families with kids. They are non-shedding, a good choice for families with allergy issues.
Most people have their schnauzer-shih-tzus clipped in a pet trim, often in a Schnauzer or Westie style trim - clipped short on the body, sides, ears, and head, leaving the face, legs, belly, and chest, with furnishings. These furnishings are trimmed to be kept pretty, and easy to care for. Other styles styles include the "puppy cut" with 1 1/2" to 2" of coat left all over, and the "kennel cut" which is clippered short all over.Personality
On a range of 1-10, 10 being the most active (like a Jack Russel Terrier!), Schnauzer-Shih Tzu crosses will generally fall in the range of 4-6. They are VERY devoted to their families, and enjoy partaking in any activity with the family. They are social, great with kids. They're sturdy, and can handle, and enjoy, exercise. They are quite intelligent, and excel at learning.
Size and Colors
Schnauzer-Shih Tzu vary just a little in size, depending on the size of the parents. Our Schnauzer-Shih Tzu average between 8 and 12 pounds.
Schnauzer-Shih Tzu come in several different colors. We do have a lovely parti colored male Schnauzer, Hunter, pictured below, so we can produce parti colors as well as solid colors (white, black, silver, gold, etc.) The parti colors are my favorites!
Non-Shedding and Allergy-Friendly
