Maltese Dogs and Puppies
Maltese, are very popular! Maltese are fun loving, active dogs. They are remarkably sturdy for their small size.
All Maltese have a straight, soft, and silky coat, which is non-shedding, and quite well tolerated by most people with allergies. Because the coat is fragile, and very soft, it's a difficult coat to maintain, and requires brushing daily, when kept in a long style. We recommend professional grooming monthly if you like to keep your Maltese coat long. Pet trims can be done less often. For that reason, most people opt to keep their Maltese in a shorter, pet trim.
Personality
On a range of 1-10, 10 being the most active (like a Jack Russel Terrier!), Maltese will generally fall in the range of 4-8. They are always up for a game, but also enjoy sitting for long hours in a lap. They are VERY devoted to their families, and enjoy partaking in any activity with the family.
Size and Colors
Maltese vary in size, depending on the size of the parents. Our maltese typically mature 4 and 8 pounds. We intentionally do not work with Maltese less than 4 pounds, because they are significantly more likely to have health problems.
