Sugar, one of our goofy Bichon Frise girls, 9 pounds, was bred to Abner, a 5 1/2 pound Yorkie male. They have 5 Yorki-Chon puppies, 3 boys and 2 girls, born July 13, 2009. We expect Sugar's Yorkie-Bichon puppies to mature between 6 and 9 pounds.
Yorkie Chons are a great choice for people with children, looking for a Yorkie mix that isn't too small for their kids. Even though they are quite small, they are more durable than the Yorkie Poos. Personalities are generally very social, and fun loving. This litter will certainly follow suit. I expect the activity levels in this litter to be medium to medium active. They will be great with kids, and they'll go very well in a family with another dog, or even a kitty for companionship. Expect to be constantly entertained...
Yorkichons are a non-shedding mix, very well suited for families woth allergy concerns. As with all non-shedding dogs, routine professional grooms are required, generally every 6 to 14 weeks, depending on the style of groom that you choose. Shorter trims require less frequent groomings.
