Charmin, a 9 pound Bichon Frise, was bred to Abner, a 5 1/2 pound Yorkshire Terrier. They have 4 Yorki-Chon puppies, 2 girls and 2 boys, born April 5, 2010. We expect Charmin's Yorkie-Chon puppies to mature between 7 and 9 pounds.
Yorkie Chons are a great alternative for people looking for a dog that is similar to the Yorkie Poo, but feel that the Yorkie Poo is perhaps too small or fragile. This mix is sturdy, social, and great with kids. The coat is non-shedding, a terrific choice for people with all but the worst allergy issues.
Yorkie Chons enjoy people - they are generally medium in activity level, always eager to play with the kids or their friends. They are average in intelligence, generally housebroken in 4 to 6 weeks. Consistency in training will speed this along nicely. As a yorkie mix, training with treats is one of the best methods for training (either housebreaking or tricks!)
