Laffy, a small 8 pound gold and white Shih Tzu, was bred to Willie, a chocolate and white 5 1/2 pound Toy Poodle. Willie is pictured to the right here. They have 4 beautiful little Shih Poo puppies, 2 girls and 2 boys, born March 6, 2008. We expect these puppies to mature between 6 and 10 pounds. The markings are splendid!
Shipoos are one of our most popular mixes. This mix is bright, easy to train, generally housebroken within 3 to 6 weeks of going to their new home. This is a very social mix, good with adults and children alike. They enjoy the company of your friends, your kids' friends, and strangers too!
Shih Poo coats are really well suited for people with allergy issues, looking for a non-shedding, allergy friendly dog. No dog is completely hypo-allergenic, but these come close. The coats are very soft, full, and wavy. Groomers enjoy working with the coats as different styles can be done, depending on the tastes of the owner. One popular trim is scissored fluffy all over, about 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches long. This look is pretty, and fairly easy to care for. Plan for professional grooming every 6-12 weeks, depending on the style you choose.
