Dot, a tiny 7 pound gold and white Shih Tzu, was bred to Tony, an 8 pound chocolate and gold Toy Poodle. They have 2 Shih Tzu Poodle mix puppies, a girl and a boy, born September 18, 2009.
Shih Poos, or Shipoos are a mix of Poodle and Shih Tzu. This is one of our most popular breeds for good cause. This is a bright mix, generally trained within 3 to 6 weeks of going home. They are very social, enjoying the company of anyone, the vet, neighbors, cats, children, etc. They will bark when a visitor arrives, but the bark is in happiness rather than watchfulness. This mix is ideally suited for families with kids.
Shih Tzu Poodle mixes are non-shedding, a great choice for people looking for a hypo-allergenic dog. The coat is soft, wavy, thick and vibrant. They come in any combination of colors, which is fun. Shih Poos vary in size, depending on the size of the parents, from as small as 4-5 pounds, to as large as 20 pounds.
