Nadine, a 10 pound small Mini Poodle female, was bred to Mugs, a 13 pound parti colored Mini Schnauzer male. They have 3 Mini Schnoodle puppies, 2 boys and a girl, born September 9, 2009.

Mini Schnoodles are incredibly popular. They are great with kids - they have a fantastic curious and playful personality, matched with the agility and durability to enjoy playing with your children, and their friends too. This is a very intelligent mix, as both the Poodle and the Schnauzer excel in intelligence and trainability (Poodles are ranked #2, and Schnauzers are not far behind!) I find this mix to be even more trainable than the poodle, with the influence of the schnauzer's curious and forgiving nature. They just don't become confused as easily, due to a more eager attitude.

The Schnoodle coat is excellent for folks with allergy issues. Because the coat is a bit less dense, it carries fewer allergens (from the environment) than some of the other mixes. Because they have longer legs, they come in direct contact with fewer allergens as well. As with all dogs, though, it's important to keep the Scnoodle clean, for the allergic person's comfort.
