Cindy Lou, a sweet, somewhat larger Mini Schnauzer, was bred to Polar, our white Mini Schnauzer male. This was a breeding that we did in the hopes of keeping a female or two back for breeding, since Cindy Lou is getting a bit older, and we really like Cindy Lou. Cindy Lou and Polar have 5 Mini Schnauzer puppies, 4 boys and a girl (we'll be keeping her) on May 19, 2008. We expect these puppies to mature between 14 and 17 pounds.
Miniature Schnauzers have been popular for years. This is a non-shedding dog, great with kid. They are very intelligent and quite easy to train, though they generally need a somewhat firmer disipline style than some other breeds, like the Poodle. The Mini Schnauzers are playful, energetic, and happy. They do also settle down very nicely in the house, to enjoy some quiet time.
Mini Schnauzers are typically groomed in a pattern with shorter coat on the body, and longer furnishings on the legs, face, and belly. When clipped, the otherwise coarse coat on the body becomes soft and very pettable, as more undercoat grows in (rather than the coarse outer coat.) Regardless of how the dog is groomed, they are non-shedding, and a good choice for folks with allergy concerns.
