Pansy, one of our larger Maltese girls, was bred to Hunter, a black and white parti colored Miniature Schnauzer male. They have 5 lovely Maltese Schnauzer mix puppies, all boys, born February 25, 2008. We have some really neat color patterns in this litter. We expect these Mauzer puppies to mature between 9 and 14 pounds. Hunter is pictured here to the right. The puppies are pictured below.
Maltese Schnauzer mixes, aka Mauzers, are a great mix for families with children. As a Schnauzer mix, they are intelligent, sturdy, and fun-loving. As a Maltese Mix, they have a very clownish nature. This is a non-shedding mix, very suitable for families with all but the very worst allergies. They are quite intelligent, generally housebroken within 3 to 6 weeks of going to their new home, even sooner for those that take housebreaking seriously (consistency is key to housebreaking any kind of dog, regardless of age.)
The coats are softer in texture than the coat of a mini schnazuer, but not difficult to keep up, like the maltese. Generally soft and more straight than wavy, requiring professional grooming every 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the grooming style chosen. Colors vary from solid colors to parti colors, like you see in this litter.
Pansy's Malt-Tzu puppies are all boys!
