Chewy, a solid gold Shih Tzu, with minor white markings, was bred to Scooter, a 5 1/2 pound Maltese male. They have 3 Mal-Shi puppies, 2 girls and a boy, born September 21, 2009.

Maltese Shih Tzu mixes, otherwise known as Maltzu or Mal-Shi, are a small, non-shedding, kid friendly mix. This mix is social, clownish, and great with kids. Intelligence is average - they're generally housebroken in 4 to 8 weeks, depending on how consistent you are with training! This is a social mix - they are very interested in being the center of attention, and your family's best friend.

Maltese Shih Tzu have rather straight, very soft coats. This coat is non-shedding, a very good choice for people that need an allergy-friendly coat.
