Nutmeg, a small Golden Retriever female, about 40 pounds, was bred to Miner, an apricot/red Mini Poodle male. They have 4 Mini Goldendoodle puppies, 2 girls and 2 boys, born May 5, 2008. We expect these Miniature Goldendoodle puppies to mature an average of 25 pounds. This is a repeat of a breeding we have done several times, with outstanding results.

Our Mini Goldendoodles are a really neat dog, a size that is kind of unusual, smaller than a large dog, larger than a small dog. This mix can be suitable for people with less than severe allergy issues. We never represent them to be non-shedding, but those with mild allergies and those that just don't want to deal with the mess of hair in the house, will be very happy with the Miniature Goldendoodle. This is a bright mix, easy to train, generally housebroken in 2 to 4 weeks. Many will find that the retrieving instincts are remarkably strong, and many Mini Goldendoodles will happily hunt smaller birds like grouse, etc.

The temperament of the Mini Goldendoodle is fun loving, cheerful, and very social. The Mini Goldendoodle and Mini Labradoodle are very similar - most that prefer a Mini Goldendoodle choose by color, or by the fact that as a youngster, they grew up with a Golden Retriever. Those that choose a Mini Labradoodle generally choose due to color (more color variety) or due to the fact that they grew up with a Labrador Retriever. The reality is that other than color, both doodles are equivalent in temperament, coat type, and size.
